Question about lighting

I,m fairly new to growin but not smoking but i was wondering if it is bad to in the growth stage switch your plants from the sun in the day and then a hps at night to keep the 24 hours light till i switch it to flowering stage? looked around and really couldnt find any awnsers.

I have heard of people doing this. I dont think it will hurt them, havent done it myself. But have seen it suggested without hesitation from the suggester.

nah man, its not bad.. nothing beats the sun.. its free, way more powerful than any artificial lights, and has a super broad spectrum of light.. go ahead and move on with your plan.. the only thing that you may have to worry about is bugs.. look over your plants when you bring them back in as you don't want to bring any bugs back into your inside garden..

no i got no problem with bug had that issue before keep them safe still inside just put them in front of an open window in a tin foil lined box.

Why? I have both indoor and outdoor plants. The outdoor are growing faster than the indoor, but I do live in SoCal and they are in a nice sunny location.
