Ok, so heres my Setup. I'm using a 1000w Lumatek ballast and a 1000w Emperor MH bulb. (110,000 Lumen)
I am currently in 3rd week of Veg, I want to get the correct Lumens / Sq ft and i'm 90% sure I have this correct.
But the one thing I am unsure about is the correct lumens per sq ft a plant should have, I have done endless searching and cant find any solid answers.
So... as I have it.. derived from the inverse sq law...
(With my dial at 600w) I am essentially running my lamp at 60% power. Which is 66,000 lumens. My Lamp is hanging 1 ft over my 4 plants. Which are getting very bushy and the light footprint is not covering it as well.
So I placed up my lamp too 2 ft... The lumens the plant now receive is 66000/2*2 = 16,500 per sq ft around my plant... is this correct?
And if so... does that mean... at the base of the plant (There approx a ft high) the lumens it receives is 66,000/3*3 = 7333.3.
Is this an acceptable amount of light to have on these plants? Or should I dial up to 750, 1000, or SUPER LUMENS!!!!
