Check"GrowFAQ" Lighting, Lamps, Reflectors and Electricity. You'll find this info there.
Good luck and keep on growing!

Look pretty straightforward to me. You should have no problems as long as you follow the instructions.

Thanks, decided to go with an HPS system once my current plants either fail or flower. Deciding between 250w or 400w still though.

depending on the space go with 400w or 600w, IMO.

I use a 400w MH setup and Ive had pretty good success with it on my first grow. my plants are nearing the 2 week flowering mark and they are nice and tall and bushy!

Cool, thanks alot guys...I ordered a rad 400w HPS set up and a MH Conversion bulb. I have a really small space, but I am going to grow 4 plants at a time in it cause i have really great venting and whatnot. Should be light overkill in that tiny space. Good venting up into the attic and into the bedroom as well, so i hope to keep those crazy temps down. I live in a tropical climate so its always a pain....

flowering with CFLs at the moment, glad im getting something better

Thanks again for helping to answer such a common question.

if you have problems with temps and stuff throw in some desk fans (if you have places in the closet/room to clip them on as well as some big stand up fans to help push the hot air out!! might help take the temp down 10 degrees or so.
