Question about flowering period.

Hi, the strain im growing says that it has a 7-9 week flowering period. Does that mean it will grow in buds for up to 9 weeks?

What i mean to ask is, if i harvest earlier, does that mean i just get less because i didnt grow it longer, or does it mean the product is 'incomplete' as in less potent.

when it is said that 7 - 9 weeks flowering means that from the day you start to flower, in 7-9 weeks the pot will be ripe/mature enuf to smoke. during the flowering time, the buds will grow and bush out and swell up and ripen. pot is like any other fruit actually.
