you'll still need to get a fan for venting/exhausting the tube, but aside for that you should be set afaik

Not sure on fan size but that's a really decent price for what you are getting. Don't forget the ducting you'll need and adjustable light hangers are sure nice too though not required.

That light comes with a cooltube, the glass cylinder around the bulb socket... To use that properly you connect a fan and ductwork to it and vent it outside somehow so the heat from the bulb never enters the grow area. If you have a/c in the room maybe you don't need a cooltube system at all but if you don't you need all the bits to use it right and ideally you also put the ballast outside of the grow room.

Do you have a/c in the grow area or do you plan to use exhaust fans and also how big is the room?

Actually the room is pretty large, it's actually a full size bedroom, and yeah it is air conditioned, it's actually chilii in there, the temps are around 64 degrees ,
Wud I still need a cooltube if the room is cold to begin with???

I would go with ducting the cool tube, temps can jump up fast when you're dealing with HID lights. I would say that a 4" vortex fan is good to cool the light, then you have to consider exhausting the room, calculate the cubic feet of the room, and get a fan that is rated to replace the air in the entire room within 5 min. You can save some money by using a passive intake. To keep it on the down low I would get a carbon filter somewhere in the highest point of the room to catch the hottest air, and exhaust through that to control odor.
Controlling the environment of the room is up to you and it will be the deciding factor of your end product. do it right and you will save yourself a lot of hassle later. Read as much as you can on this site. Good luck, don't be afraid to ask questions.

Agreed. I meant to say if you have a portable a/c or window unit then you could get around all that hassle and expense of the cooltube and just pay the extra electricity to use a/c. The room being cool naturally and house a/c may not work well enough it just depends.

Not using a cooltube would be cheaper and eaiser initially but more expensive in the long run.

yeah well i live in the midwest so its relatively cool here, and plus my house is always freezing 24/7 cause i have a few siberian huskies, this room is pretty big its not a small room, i wud have a few fans moving the air around hopefully that wud keep temps low,,,

1kw lights are no lightweights, you can tell if it will be ok if you happen to have a 1000w space heater. Set the space heater to run 24/7 for a day with the door closed using your fans to circulate the air and tell us how tropical it gets.
Siberian Huskies are the shit.
