Quantum 3’x8’ scrog

First run in my new larger tent, thought I’d share this grow. Previously I started out with a 2x3 scrog with a hlg 260 v1 kit and did pretty well but soon moved into a 2x4 tent and added an atreum 288 kit. Was getting around 9 ounces out of a scrog in there.

In this new 4x8 tent I set up a 3x8 scrog screen with a 12” walkway in the front that allows me to sidle in there and maintain the screen. Along with my 260 v1 kit and 288 from atreum I built a 480w light from 4x 288v1 boards from cob kits.com, cane out really nice. Should be flowing in another week or so under around 900w.

I am running 4 18g totes filled with pro mix hp. Three totes have a selection of stray fox’s chem triangle, one tote has big worm’s icy hot x (seeds of freedom’s mighty freeze (- of unleashdagreen origin))

In the past I have had terrible trouble with cal mag deficiency’s under the quantum’s. I seem to have it under control this new setup. My “cure” such as it is is the following: raised temps to 80ish F, humidity 50-60%, calmag at recommend dosage, added 1 cup lime to promix per cf, and added one of those snake oily exhale bags. The lime and temps I believe are the real players I think.

Feel free to chime in if you’d like.

I had some purpling on my stems I thought was calmag and ended up burning my plants with the added nitrogen. When I got my nighttime temps up to 61°F it went away after about 3 weeks. I decided not to scrog this run just to get a baseline reading of my setup so I can track the effectiveness of different growing techniques in my particular situation. Good luck with your new tent :D I hope you push past the 9oz mark and get everything dialed in quickly!

I’m hoping I can push upward from my previous efforts with increased plant health but we'll see. My goal is to hit two lbs, but the chem triangle is not a super heavy plant. Thinking of trying sannies kollosus next round.

Hoping to flip this coming Friday but we’ll see. The chem triangle does not stretch much so looking for a full screen.

One tub is (re) exhibiting calmag issues so I have been foliage spraying with Epsom salts in addition to the cal magic they get fed. This tote has been holding moisture longer than the other totes. Not sure if it’s the clones roots not filling as the others or what.

Full canopy or as close as I can get:

last tote in line has cal mag issues:

As you can see the chem triangles are still showing mg deficiency. Been Foliar spraying Epsom salts, and that’s helped but still not looking 100%. The icy hots are looking real healthy though. I believe this will be the last grow with the chem triangle as they seem to not love my environment and are quite slow growing over all. Ironically the ct that I have vegging under an ancient 150w hps is looking much healthier. These two will end up outside in the spring. Ct on the right, icy hot on the left:

Pecking away at a heavy defoliation. Chem triangle has crazy tight internode spacing and is generally pretty thick so a haircut is definitely needed. Will probably do another one in a few weeks when flowering is well under way.

I’m seeing dramatic improvement of the chem triangles after getting a kill a watt and reducing the power of the lights to approximately 30w per square foot. Just goes to show it’s important to listen to advice, it’s the first thing people will tell you when asking about quantum boards here on the forum. I had been running about 40w psf and clearly it was too much for this Indica dom. The icy hots, shrugged off the extra light and continue to look great! I’m impressed with the habit and how fast they have started to flower. Made sure to take some snips, as they show promise.

Day 62, little worse for my new work load. Due to the virus I’m trying to do the work of three. Fucking bummer for all involved.

Did not take any harvest pictures but I’ll throw up some dried nug pics at some point. Pictured are harvest totals for those interested. Gpw is sort of undetermined as I was running 30w per square foot until day 40 or 50 then I cranked the power up to around 900w. Regards I’m very pleased, met my goal. Next up are Sannie’s Kolossus. Not sure if I will repeat the scrog, or just lst this time.

Decided not to scrog this run, I’m super busy with work during the summer and needed something easy to maintain. These are all Sannies Kolossus from fem seeds.42D7C2C4-40CE-4FBF-B202-7367EBE2D4C0.jpegFCC7A45C-5D0B-48B3-88BE-F9A789233E53.jpeg848E9C56-F77C-4CFC-907D-F38397A8B992.jpeg
