Quality over Quantity techniques

Apparently blue is better just before the lights come on. It opens the stomata. Moonlight, from what I've read, is actually more yellow than blue.
pretty much if I've read it, i've tried it. That which worked as stated or led to an improvement remained other things that didn't work get tossed

I'm growing indoors for the first time in over 25 years. I grow from seed. Do those of you that grow from seed wait until the plant naturally declares sex to flip to flower mode? Do you wait until they reach a certain characteristic, like height, or node number, flip to flower, then simply cull the males? Finally, does it matter in regard to quality?

when the nodes alternate, its mature enough to flower

Yes I feel waiting for preflowers would be the best route to go, not only for quality but for yield. Should be somewhere in the ball park of a month. A lot of what you're asking would require us knowing what equipment you are using.

I'm an outdoor grower and I don't have to think about this normally. I brought my love of growing indoors and grew great lettuce, spinach and other veggies this past winter. I pulled the trigger on COBs with 4 Area 51 W90s in a 3x3 tent and then a TastyLED T4-1750 in a 2x4 tent. I'm still dialing in the tent growing thing. I have 4 plants in each tent that I force sexed and I wonder if anyone has seen a difference in quality between doing it that way, or waiting for the plant to do it naturally.

If I wait for pre flowers with some strains I grow I would quickly run out of head room so I flip when I have to which is about 2', preflower or not.

Interested in the w90's just to try one as supplemental so how are they working? Got any pics of the room and plants?

They're fine lights and connectable, which I liked. I would advise the TastyLED T1-2100, though. For $10 more, you get 50% efficiency, my personal minimum, now. They are virtually the same power. Plus, they are handmade works of art, with the best components available, by one guy who does it all, from receptionist to engineer to shipping clerk. Rahz is also available to talk to.

All my Tasty LED's have been superb, and the T2-2100 has been perfect for my closet tent which is 20' x 36" x 60". The first week under the T2- 2100 the growth was insane and it has not slowed down.
