I would use distilled water or pH'd tap water. River/lake water has contaminates.

If you use either, go with river water. Water that is moving is going to have less pollution than water sitting still in a pond.

tap water or boiled water ( let it cool down lol ) also its only a little thing but may helpit wont do any harm if it doesnt but really shake the water in a bottle 1st to put more oxygen in to it
