QB skepticism

Good day growers!
A while back I purchased a QB-70 4000k specifically to reduce electrical costs, so far great results after a period of 2 months vegetative. However upon looking around on the site for another QB to replace my 600HPS, I came across a review: "450g from 320w of COBs is just madness.".

Light specifications:

The 6 panel QB-320 is offered in 3000K, 3500K, and 4000K.

QBv2 (Samsung LM301B) panels, fan-cooled by a 92mm SUNON fan, powered by the Meanwell HLG-320H-2100C at up to 320W.

Providing >183.7lm/W, with an 94% efficient driver, this light outputs a total system efficacy of about 172lm/W, equivalent to 2.5-2.6uMol/J PAR efficiency.

Is this just promotional BS, because it is very vague and does not specify veg period or any information behind these grow results?
Happy Toking :bigjoint:

To my knowledge, HLG does not build any fan cooled fixtures. That would make me question the legitimacy of the panel's as well. They may or may not be built with legit 301b diodes, but if the boards weren't built by HLG they are not actually Quantum Boards because that is a trademarked HLG product. A link to the light you are looking at would help, and IF he has a minute @Stephenj37826 may be able to clear up your questions.

The 58% effecient is probably pretty close to accurate (if lm301b), looks like a 320h is pushing 576 chips, so at full blast you'd be 0.55W/chip which is high but the light is also full blast, so expected. To put that into perspective an HLG rspec is 1,152 chips for 480W, or 0.41W/chip at max. You want more chips per wattage supplied if you want a bigger μmol/J. Idk how many $$ = 6,999.00R, but for me, it seems to check out. If it's along the same price per watt as an Alibaba then I'd pick it up. I like the staggered 3k & 4k. It might be over stating the 2.5μmol/J figure a bit, probably normal wattage would be 200W and without an lm79 I'd say it's probably closer to 2.4μmol/J lamp but not sure. There's multiple bins of LM301b and just depends on what is really there.

If it's at $2/W I'd choose a cheaper lamp or go with a $2/W HLG, otherwise I don't see huge red flags, buying anything online is always a bit of a gamble, check return policy.
