Putting in a second 240w LED

Hey guys

So i currently have two grow tents - both 1 square meter.

One of them has a mars tsw 2000 - which is rated at 300w.

The other tent has a kingbrite 240w LM301H Samsung strip lamp. I also have another cheaper 240w LED, similar to the Kingbrite but it uses cheaper diodes.

I am putting this second lamp in with the kingbrite so there will be 480w (once i turn them up to full, dimmed the other unit to 50% so effectively added 120w for now then will turn it up.

This is an experiment to see if the tent with more power produces more bud. Its a fully organic grow - Barneys Farm Original Cheese is the strain and there are 12 plants - 6 in each.

Does anyone have experience in adding lots of light to a space? The driver for the second lamp sits outside of the tent so it mitigates heat problems. I have also raised the lamps quite a bit to reduce the chance of burning the plants

Would love to hear what you guys think - I have read that you cant really increase yield without increasing CO2

please show and document your side by side, always good to have some to compare to directly.
my bet would be the 480W 301H are way too much in the square meter.
Hmm. How much light will it be? Around 1300umol/s? Not too much if grower is up to the task.

I'm going to say the tent with more light will produce significantly more bud, but g/w will be lower.

I'd use the lower wattage tent for veg, and flower in the higher wattage one if it was me.

"The data from Chandra et al. show that cannabis plants are like many other terrestrial plants. In ambient concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO2), cannabis leaves begin to saturate when the photon density is 500 µmol (PPFD). The limiting factor is CO2. This shows up in the data as the concentration of CO2 within the leaves drops when the photon density is above 500 µmol/m2. Increasing photon density at this point produces diminishing returns, but it will lead to more photosynthetic activity. However, there is a limit. Cannabis plants begin photoinhibition when the photon density reaches 1000 µmol/m2 (PPFD). Additional photon density, beyond 1000 µmol/m2 (PPFD), will lower the rate of photosynthesis and can damage plant tissue. "

i think there is some truth in the studies from S. Chandra et al.
with high CO2 levels this is another story of course.

Just be careful until you dial in the extra light, it's super easy to give them more than they can handle. People show pics of plants they fried under their LEDs every day here. You just need to find your sweet spot. Meters can help a lot with that, but without one, just start conservative and watch your plants closely and raise them up if you see signs of damage.
