Pushing nutrient feeding schedules

I've been growing for < 2 years and I'm starting to feel comfortable with my strains, environment, etc. I'm wondering how conservative the feeding schedules provided by nutrient manufacturers. I grow in pre-packaged soil (mostly Roots Organic Traditional / original), feed with the Roots Organics liquid regimen and follow that schedule pretty closely (as published by RO). I'm growing in a still-new sealed 8x8x8 grow environment with a single 1000 watt HPS, AC and co2 (bottled). I understand and do well with determining when they need watering but how far can I expect to increase the published nute volume before I see a diminishing return. Looking for a ballpark range here, from some folks who've experimented first hand please. I realize there are a host of variables and I intend to increase gradually, with alternate pure waterings. Thank you to any kind souls who may be able to educate me.

The feeding schedules from my experience can be too much nutrients and burn your plant I go with 1/2 strength of the feeding schedule.

You have a large setup. You know your strains and environment, and you know what the typically produce.

I would reccomend doing a grow with 8 or so plants. Feed 4 or 5 the way you usually feed, and then the remaining plants, experiment on.

Personally, on the remaining plants, I would probably feed 1 at half strength, 1 at maybe 1 1/4 strength and another at 1 1/2.

If you really want to test your grow, go on Amazon or Ebay, order the Technaflora Recipe for Success box kit. It is less then $40, and is great. I switched from RO to Technaflora and have been VERY happy. If you want to see how well your RO is actually working, take a 4th plant and use Technaflora.

Now you have your control (4 plants fed as usual), then the 3 plants fed with RO at different strengths and a 4th plant using a totally different nute line.

Keep an eye on your leaves for colour etc (no burning) i always use a blue lab truncheon.........start with an EC of 1.0 then work your way up in the end times to around2.4/2.6 max.....what I've found half strength normally works all the way through.......doesnt hurt to flush with straight water half way through......after a while you will get a feel for it....all depends on strains and alike....personally i use 20 litre pots with 50/50 coco/perlite mix and run to waste..........tipping/topping SOG as well.......hope this helps......temps/humidity important as well......Air flow....blah blah blah....wish you luck ;)
