I was thinking of taking a cutting from the lower branch before it starts showing pistils. I was hoping to use the "How to clone tutorial" thats on RIU.
Dip it in water for 25 sec
Put it next to a shaded window for 12/12 until it shows roots.
Now after it shows roots am I switching back to veg, or do I do a 24 hour dark cycle then veg?

I have my clones under CFL's 24/7.
After you get roots put into veg cycle. Some do 18/6, others 24/7 for the light cycle. I like 24/7 veg for 2 weeks and then drop to 18/6 with the F13's. Purples I have do better with 18/6. Personal preference and also strain.

Alrite 24/7 cfls, do you use a diy dome for them? Ive seen some use domes or cover them. Anyhow thanks for the tip Ill be sure to right this down. I kind of read this somewhere else but it wasnt making sense..so thanks alot orzz.

Dang thanks dude for the comment bout the plant, i babied the shit out of her I tell you. I never seen one like that either (at least on riu) so we will see what happens.

Hell ya thats enough light almost a bit overkill. You see what I have running over each one of my plants. Rob some of the lights from your bud box and use them for clones.

I just got the botanicare 70 and it comes with a dome. I cut 70 clones and some were a little too tall for the dome. I have a Vick's warm humidifier going and they all look great. The clones are in the 4x4x8 sunhut xl along with a 2x4 ebb & flo veg tray.

Ah I knew you would say its an overkill!! Hah, called that one. I thought It was a little to much light, I actually counted again (I was a little baked last time) and its close damn near 500watts....of cfls. Yea, damn over kill. Thanks for the tip killa. Oh btw I tried google flowering pistils and they show these white/black images. When I see a pistil, it will be white correct??
See I cant get botanicare I was hoping I could just cut a clone maybe 2 weeks when shes into flowering to get a good clipping..Im just not 100% on what to do next because I keep reading different methods:
For instance RIU has this "Cloning Tutorial", if you google those words + RIU you will find it. Someone basically took a cutting, dipped it in water for 25 seconds, and set it NEXT to a window w/o direct light in a cup with a somethin holdin the leaf so it wont fall over. Am I suppose to give this clone 24 hour cycle until she roots? Then 18/6 then 12/12 etc. This seems to be my problem atm lol.
Using rooting hormone will dramatically up your survival rate. I use 24 hour light right from the get go. In a humidity dome and w/ a heating pad. I have never found an advantage to altering your photoperiod untill flowering. I use a foot long t-5 and I root 50 clones under it. Keep the humidity at 80 for the first 3 or 4 days and cut it back to 55 or 60 over the next week, in 14 days you should have fully rooted clones.

Rooting hormone are you talking about dip for clones? Sorry im new with words. How long does it take you to see roots? I know im suppose to give them 24 hours of light but this other thread stuck the little clone clippings next to a window (not direct light, in the shade really) and in couple weeks roots came out. Im really going to look into a DIY humidity dome and use those floros that you and 50 million keep talking about for clones lol. Thanks bud.

Ya it comes in gel or powder form. I have the gel never tried the powder so can't say which works better.

Yes I believe that is what is being discussed. I use Olivia's Cloning Gel.
Usually 5-7 days to see first signs.Sorry im new with words. How long does it take you to see roots?...

Shes been on 12/12 for week 1/2, couple more days will mark 2 weeks for 12/12. Hopefully by then or maybe 3 weeks ill see something
