Purple stems

Sorry if this sounds dumb im a newbie to growing.
My plants have purple stems and the leaves are pointing lots upward and 1 of the beginning leaves has turned brown?

could anyone help?
Are these symptoms normal?:wall:

dosent matter they seem to have gone away realy wierd???

some friken bugs munched on some of the leaves though:(
