Purple Maxx/Gravity and the Light Mover...

Hey there everybody! I was wondering if any of you had experience with feeding Humboldt's Own nutes while your plants are under a light mover. The back of the bottle says to cut back the lights. I understand that these nutes run hot so they suggest raising your lights to avoid burn. I am wondering if since my plants are under a light mover, and the light doesn't stay intensified in one spot for very long, if I would be ok keeping it at the height it currently sits at without getting any burn? What do you guys think? Any experience out there?

Hey Danko. My babies were under a 250w hps and I had them 3 inches away for my last grow. Used both purplemax and gravity and didn't notice any side effects. Will be using both for my current grow too under a 400w set up and will be getting the lights close so I figure with a light mover there will be no problems

Thanks for the quick reply and the good info. Do you think the fact that my setup is 1000W might make a difference?

Yeah i do think it will make a difference but I'd imagine you'll just do things slightly different. Mines a 400w in a cool tube and I can touch the glass of the cool tube. Yours, being a 1000 w will be a good bit further away and Its on a light mover so the light intensity won't be in the one place for long. The light mover, a good distance from your canopy and a good occilating fan and your sorted. Just my 2 cents.

I would just check temps a couple times a day then you can see if your burning it up or not. We have been talking about getting light movers and are thinking more seriously about it now. How do you like yours? How many plants and what space do you cover with it?

Good tip! I am running the light mover over 6 bushy indicas. I have it set up in a 10x10 room with a plant footprint of approx 4wx6l. They are stacked in sets of 2 and the light mover is set to run 4ft out of the footprints 6 feet. So far I am liking the light mover. I know I am not covering much space, but the set-up was a hand me down so I figured why not? I like the fact that the light is able to hit different angles. Also it is supposed to promote uniform canopies. Only drawback I have heard is that you wont achieve massive kolas, because the light isn't intensified. I was told it evens out though because all the smaller sites bulk up from the added light angles.

Hmm the massive kolas hits me pretty hard as clients tend to LOVE those. I am thinking it would be perfect for a veg room though. I would be able to keep good canopies, cover more space, and use less power it seems.
