Purging Bho without a vacuum purge.

Hello folks just a question on purging. So I don't have a vacuum purge and I'm not ready to buy one yet. I've done alot of research and see mixed feelings on purging without a vacuum. My question to you guys is what are some good methods? I've seen methods such as the oven, a griddle even doing a flush with everclear. Saw a few other methods as well but I wanna hear what you guys have to say. I'm leaning more towards a heat method but not sure.

I personally have Not fucked with butane nor do I plan to with the flammability and explosive volatility of it... But I do run Isopropyl--wish it could be my own shine but this is Way cheaper at the current day in age--and I just use an Old Fondue Warming tray and Pyrex dish then scrap plop on wax paper Then Back on Glass Pyrex in oven at 150-200... Wait till it bubbles up and and expands and all the bubbles burst... That's what I like to do, really clean and good head high. I'm not into body high much so I prefer shatter.

A vacuum oven or chamber is a must. You can do a dual solvent extraction using butane as the primary solvent then using a secondary solvent such as 190proof everclear to purge the primary solvent.....However, that means open blasting.

Thank you for your reply. I live in Cali and from what I understand I'm not able to purchase 190 proof. Going with the lower proof will it still have the same affect? Also I'm fairly new at this I've done alot of reading and I mean alot but a few parts have me stuck. I have a friend that does Bho all the time but always uses a vacuum purge. He however didn't have any recommendations when it came to purging without one. Anyways I basically stumbled upon alot of trim and decided to have him help me. So after blasting the trim with butane and doing the water purge I was really lost. I saw some people use a double boiler some use a oven. I tried the oven method. Well I'm afraid that I did something wrong because it became pretty dark. I kept it in the oven at 170f which I read was recommended. Opened up the oven every 5 mintues waiting for bubbles to disappear well they didn't after about 45 minutes. Any recommendations? I don't necessarily wanna throw it out because there is alot of it. This isn't something im looking to make into a career but just somthing to make myself some personals. Sorry of this seems like a stupid question.

Well don't throw it out have you even tried it?

And a vacuum is NOT A must! Don't let them fool you! BUT it is better. But I don't roll in dough I just roll inside doughnuts down mountains, and I can't buy a Vacuum on a whim...

But do Not open the oven--first of all just ask to borrow your buddies vacuum for a bit, throw him some rent money for it--but your first problem was Opening the oven over and over, you let out the heat so the oven has to Heat back up which while doing so rises Above 200... Hence why to PreHeat an oven so you don't burn your product...

Secondly it Must be on Pyrex glass or else the metal or whatever else will get Much Hottermuch Quicker.

Next time just leave the oven closed and wait... Also you NEED to wash it in 15Seconds All frozen... Actually just saw a neat trick ... Ice Salt Water bath to keep your jar of solvent and product Frozen whilst the solvent is draining... I'm buying a Potato ricer to aid in the straining... As well to make my own Cider and Peachy!

I like to do Two Runs too...

Quick help guys. I'm not using a vacuum purge obviously that's why I'm here. Can you guys guys take a look at this Real quick? I have the griddle on low do I need to keep it going till these bubbles stop? I would truly appreciate any help this is occurring as we speak. Link is at the bottom.
Thank you!

If you are not using a vac oven then you are not removing all the solvents. You want to get it to as close to 0 ppm's so it's safe to smoke. Otherwise it's garbage and the chemicals will leave crystallized deposits in your lungs causing pulmonary fibrosis and /or carcinoma.

If you don't have a closed loop system and a vac oven and a distiller. Then don't make bho. Leave it to the professionals.

Anyone that wants to argue this, go get your bho tested for contaminants first.

A vacuum oven IS A MUST!!!! If you knew a little bit about what you are talking about then you would know not to give such advice. If your running BHO and hoping to purge successfully without one, give up the thought, its not gonna happen.

is there an estimated/ ball park time length of purge time in a vacuum chamber on heat Say per one gram of oil or 1
Can of butane ? To be close as possible to all butane removed ? I wonder if there is inline ppm meters that can be hooked to gauge set.

You are way too hot and most of the bubbles appear to be CO2 from decarboxylation.

A vacuum purge in thin films will allow you to do a more complete job faster, at lower temperatures.

By current standards, you are expected to be below 50 ppm residual solvent, which takes a long time and more heat without vacuum.

How long it takes depends on a number of things, one of which is the viscosity of the oil at a given temperature, which changes strain to strain.

You can purge a gram of oil in a thin film at 115F and -29.5 Hg in under an hour.

It doesn't scale proportionally, becasuse as the puddles get larger and deeper, the time goes up logarithmically.
