Thank you for your reply. I live in Cali and from what I understand I'm not able to purchase 190 proof. Going with the lower proof will it still have the same affect? Also I'm fairly new at this I've done alot of reading and I mean alot but a few parts have me stuck. I have a friend that does Bho all the time but always uses a vacuum purge. He however didn't have any recommendations when it came to purging without one. Anyways I basically stumbled upon alot of trim and decided to have him help me. So after blasting the trim with butane and doing the water purge I was really lost. I saw some people use a double boiler some use a oven. I tried the oven method. Well I'm afraid that I did something wrong because it became pretty dark. I kept it in the oven at 170f which I read was recommended. Opened up the oven every 5 mintues waiting for bubbles to disappear well they didn't after about 45 minutes. Any recommendations? I don't necessarily wanna throw it out because there is alot of it. This isn't something im looking to make into a career but just somthing to make myself some personals. Sorry of this seems like a stupid question.
Well don't throw it out have you even tried it?
And a vacuum is NOT A must! Don't let them fool you! BUT it is better. But I don't roll in dough I just roll inside doughnuts down mountains, and I can't buy a Vacuum on a whim...
But do Not open the oven--first of all just ask to borrow your buddies vacuum for a bit, throw him some rent money for it--but your first problem was Opening the oven over and over, you let out the heat so the oven has to Heat back up which while doing so rises Above 200... Hence why to PreHeat an oven so you don't burn your product...
Secondly it Must be on Pyrex glass or else the metal or whatever else will get Much Hottermuch Quicker.
Next time just leave the oven closed and wait... Also you NEED to wash it in 15Seconds All frozen... Actually just saw a neat trick ... Ice Salt Water bath to keep your jar of solvent and product Frozen whilst the solvent is draining... I'm buying a Potato ricer to aid in the straining... As well to make my own Cider and Peachy!
I like to do Two Runs too...
