Pulling intake air from an attic

Do alot of folks do this during the winter? Just wondering what percautions i should take considering ill be pulling this air across my bulb. I mean, my attic has open vents on each side so its basically as cold up there as it is outside. My concern is if its raining or snowing or just humid ill be running that moist air right across my 200 or whatever degree bulb. That cant be good, right.?

I would pull intake in to the room, and have your light vented in to the attic.

Yes sir, that is a great idea. That will also keep my fans from pulling so much of my furnace heat straight out of the house. Thank you for your prompt response.

But now im wonder if i should seal my room so the cold air from the attic doesnt cool the entire house. But fuck, when the lights are out my room will be freezing. I guess i could get a space heater with a thermostat on it. What do you think?

i considered doing that for a while. i now just my timing set so the lights are on overnight when its coldest out to keep the temps up, then off during the day so the temp doesnt fluctuate too much. i do have a space heater in the room that i turn on if the temp starts to get too low. havent gotten around to getting a thermostat, did you have one in mind?

If you have a return in your grow room you could put a charcoal filter on ir and vent to the rest of your home and pull make up air from the rest of your house, you know those filters really do a good job and then you would not have to run a heater that will save you on electric and if smell is still an issue then you can buy one of those little ozone generator for less than 70 bucks also vent your lights to the attic good luck

Alot of space heaters have thermostats built in i believe.

My issue is that i have to run my fans on high to keep temps in check but doing that without any kind of intake in my room (using 2 420cfm) is forcing my gas furnace to work overtime because those fans are immediately sucking up all my warm air and replacing it with cold drafty air. I think. So what i believe ill do is use a third fan (stanley) and pull cold air from the attic into the whole bedroom and not just the light or tent.
That cold air should cool the room down enough for me to throw some speed controllers on my fans and run them half speed.
Im thinking ill have the stanley plugged into one of my timers so it only on when my lights are.

Once summer roles around ill have to redesign everything but i guess ill just cross that bridge when i get there.
