I'd like to be positive, but I think we have atleast 20 more years of federally illegal cannabis. I'd bet as long as any states declare it illegal, the feds will hang around to support them.

What about international agreements, do we say "just kidding" after 80 years? Not that I don't want them to, but we know they have jobs, money and control over a very large group of citizens to lose.

the feds should stick to what they do best, securing our national borders, ensuring the rights of the people and the freedom and sovereignty of the states.

If they are going to stick to what they do best, that is the wrong list.

I am cynical too, but one sure way to get a politician's attention is to threaten his sinecure. If your congressman thinks it will cost him his cushy job, he will smoke a joint on the capital steps.

One significant obstacle to cannabis legalization is the international treaty that the US is a signatory to. Removing cannabis from the CSA would not "legalize" pot, it would simply make the federal government neutral on the issue; that would satisfy me. Throw the issue back to the states and let them deal with it.

Yeah, well the pic didn't load on my phone at work today. But thanks for pointing that out, since it was totally necessary for you to do so.
Wasn't trying to be a dick, just saying that he meant it sarcastically. Chill man..

Hmmm...looks like our only obstacle lies with those who vote REPUBLICAN.
republicans have their memes just like democrats, and most conservatives have spent their whole lives being told dope is evil, it's The Devil's Weed with it's roots in hell, it's The Assassin of Youth, etc etc etc, memes which were created by....

Dun Dun DUUUUUUUUNNN!!

DEMOCRATS in the 30's and 40''s when they had absolute control over the house the senate for more than 40 years.

old memes die hard, especially in a group that by definition resists change.

you know what else public support has surged for?

marriage equality.

thankfully, the LIBERTYCHICKEN's and thecoolman's of the world are here to save us from those threatening homosexuals, and the desertdude's and kynes' of the world will be here to sit silent while they showcase their bigotry all day long.
