Hey fine folks! I’ve been chasing a quick moving problem in a Death Scout clone about 3 weeks into flower that sure struck me as a p def, but I haven’t been able to fix. First some context: last round she performed amazing! See First photo. No issues to speak of. That was late summer into fall…not winter like it is now.
Things were going along fine until 2 weeks ago with basically the same treatment as last time - organic grow in 1 part kryptonite (local version of ffof basically) 3 parts lamberts mix 1/2 part ewc. Food is half strength GaiaGreen (all purpose, bloom, mineralized phosphate, insect frass - at various stages) in the dirt and half strength biocanna nutes, fulvic acid, bit of calmag here and there - when she started showing signs of p def. Lower leaves developed that purplish/blue tinge, then blotches (quickly) and yellowing and rapid death. Within a few days it started moving up the plant. I thought ph issues cause the nutes bring it down and j fed close to the start of the problem without letting the solution aerate and bring the ph up - so checked runoff (not that accurate I know) with drops and it seemed right around 7. Tried a slurry test with the strips and realized I might be a little colourblind and REALLY need some proper testing gear….also seemed in the 6.5-6.8 range (my well water comes out the tap at 6.5 like magic). Temp at pot level varies from 16c-22 - a bit on the cool side I know, but not ok cold and at canopy a couple degrees warmer. Then I thought maybe pot size is too small (only in a 2gal fabric pot) and she definitely turned into a 2 gal root brick….so I made a hard call and repotted last night,THEN I realized how Cold my water bucket felt! Since I moved my water out the the shed it’s probably been under 10c when I feed …. I’m dumping ice water down her shorts every few days and she’s gotten mad about it …. I think anyway. I’ll post back in a few days with results from keeping her warmer.
Happy ho ho everyone! Hope it’s a green Christmas for all.
