i was reading this ed rosenthal column and he said "Three or four weeks after forcing flowering, the plants can be pruned of the fan leaves that are hiding buds. This allows the growing flowers to receive direct light" I am currently in week 4 of flowering can i trim the fan leaves or should i avoid this

The fan leaves are there so that the plant can feed..

If you absolutely feel the need to cut- then just cut the fan leaves so that only half of ea. blade is there- as if you were a mobster choppin someones fingers off-

THE BEST thing to do when trying to get light to those lower budsites would be to just tuck the fan leaf away- that way you arent hurting your baby in any way-

I would avoid removing the fan leave ... they are needed ... only if they are yellow or dying ... then that would be okay to remove ...

yeah I have to agree with these guys here. I removed some of mine 5 weeks into the flowering and I didnt see much results. What I use now though is set up some CFL lights around the bottom half of the grow room perimeter for under growth. You can get these like natural sunlight bu8lbs at home depot. That seems to be working realy good

good luck!
