Pruning/Defoliation

So my first run here I have 2 5 gals and a 3 gal. I know I didn’t need all of those to fill a 2x2 but they are bag seed and I wanted to increase my chances for female plants. Anyhow, I’ve been taking a hour of daylight (easing them into flower and defoliating and getting rid of larf. But my plants still look like a jungle am I being too light handed on my pruning and de- leafing

you need yto take a photo of the canopy from the side so we can see the depth of folliage, although a grower with more e4xperiance then i with growing in a small space will chime in first

They look fine to me. Take only what you need for proper airflow, or if a huge leaf is shading a major portion of new growth. Remember, leaves are solar panels, and nutrient storage facilities. They're a safety net of sorts, in case things get out of whack, or you get some kind of pest. Try to tie down branches, so that you spread the plant out. If you can spread them out enough, you can greatly reduce the number of leaves you need to remove.

Here is my jungle for comparison. They've been in flower about a week. I'm waiting until I figure out where the males are, before I do more training/defoliation. Once they're culled, ill be able to open the remaining plants up and fill the empty space. Then I'll decide which leaves need to be removed.

You're doing weird things. You don't need to defoliate in veg aside from lollipopping them. There is no larf. Easing them into flower is the natural way I guess, but why? They'll ease into flower over the course of a few weeks once you flip them. They seem tiny for plants that you're about to flower, and I wouldn't describe the scene as junglish. You do have a nice LST going though, and they look healthy.

Thanks that’s more relieving because I know essentially you don’t wanna go ripping fan leaves off unless you have a cause for it. But that relieves me that it could be worse I just wanted to set myself up for something nice or decent in the end

It’s supposedly supposed to stop them from stretching as much I don’t have a big tent as of now it’s 4ft tall
