Protecting plants from thieves

How would people know to go into your backyard?
Is your plant visible from the front of your house?
Is there a fence and gate?
Have you had plants stolen in the past?
oh and most important what’s your address lol?

Man there’s some desperate people out there if they need to steal a pot plant. Lazy bastards!

well basically i live beside of a field that's farmed by my boss and he is lending me some land for my garden...so my garden is on the other side of my fence and people are trespassing in that Field (this problem dramatically worsened during the pandemic) and could come across my plant and come back to steal it. We never got anything stolen in 20+ years but our third neighbor got two atv stolen from his yard five years ago. I really think that if i take measures to deter thieves I won't have trouble we are not directly besides the forest through which they can get away

That sure is a nice plant. Looks 6-8ft tall. Am I seeing it correctly? It’s in a fabric pot maybe just move the plant to a safer location on your side of the fence.

If your on camera at my joint, I've already got the footage on my phone and in the cloud.
but really only a physical barrier will deter thieves.

Serious question

Ok so you catch the perp stealing your plant. You have it all on camera. What’s your legal recourse? Do you call the police and say hey man this dude just stole my weed. Trespassing? Would it be the same if I stole your tomato plant?

breaking and entering, bulglary, death (castle doctrine...depending on state)... Too many states to say for sure, also depends what kind of set up/how far they get/do they encounter you during the buglary?

Who only looks for one? Also, lets say you get some good footage of them, unless you know them what are you gonna do, put out an APB? lol
Grab the gun and get outside... Or call the neighbor... Stop em before the damage is done.

I got live motion tracking and alerts on mne, can text up to 5 people at once, My place is on lock and surrounded by likeminded neighbors.. But the 30 dollar wifi cameras are awesome these days... That much power for that little cost is crazy to think about 10-15 years ago...

Let’s say it’s in a state where growing is illegal and there is no castle doctrine of stand your ground. However, you don’t even encounter the thieves. It’s an illegal grow. They steal your outdoor plants right before harvest. On top of that the plants were not in your property. They were on the neighbors land. Does your neighbor know you’re growing cannabis? I don’t believe there’s any recourse. Unless they are violent towards you or someone else on your property not much you can do.
