One of the cons is that if you have a Medical Card they take away your second ammendment rights. That is, you can't get a gun permit if you have a card.

Another con is playing the bullshit game to begin with. Everybody knows the Federal Government (boss of all the states) doesn't like weed. It's illegal to them. So who has last laugh when rumors of "legal smoker" houses get to the federal level and the DEA comes and breaks everything in their house? I'm not fucking laughing, but somebody should. This pseudo legal business is a big farse, just like the Federal Reserve Bank, prints and loans money like there's no tomorrow

Stow, the last two paragraphs tell it all. What kind of idiot would say "yes" to the drug question, then flash a card. If you are that dumb, you shouldn't own a gun anyway.........believe that my man. Don't sweat that shit man, it's just like when Obama came in, everyone went on a buying spree...you couldn't find ammo or handguns in Michigan anywhere forever because of the same rumers that I had a temper tantrum to.

lol thanks guys...
not planning on buying a gun anyhow, but i am ready to send my MMMP papers tomorrow, but i really need any cons that'll stop me.....
like will health insurance back out on me cos weed is still federally illegal?
or will my health insurance go up?

Its not like having a doctors prescription for high blood pressure medicine, which could actually affect insurance availability and/or rates. This is a private (as of now) license, that no other entity has the ability to access. Short answer is no, as long as you don't run around writing down on every paper put in front of you that you smoke medical marijuana, or use drugs of any kind, or whatever. Remember the saying.......Just say no!!

-Congrats on the card. Just think....21 days after tomorrow you can wait another 6 months to have your plastic card, then a few months later, pay again for a new one!!!!!!!! yea!!!!!!!!

this is 100% wrong if you read the atf form it says "if you unlawfully use or are addicted to marihuana check this box". it is the exact same atf form that you filled out years ago.

if the laws are true and hold your information private, then there are no cons i can see.
Paying $200 to a doctor that isn't my doctor, then sending $100 to the state who can cash a check within a few days - no problem, but then take nearly six months to produce a plastic card, that is only valid for 12 months!?! That is pretty damn close to a con IMHO. I am waiting for the Free Press to report that Michigan is sourcing out production of the cards to India or some crazy bullshit and honestly, it still shouldn't take that long.
Needing a card period is a con. I can turn on Dr. Oz in a few hours and he will tell me all kinds of natural shit to take to prevent cancer, diabetes all that shit. So watching that and following it is healthy, safe and wise. But someone has to wait until they are fighting cancer to actually get to legally use cannabis.
