Proper humidity in mid-late stage of veg.

I've been looking into information regarding proper temp and humidity and it seems like people are all over the place with answers saying anywhere between 50%-70% humidity. From the research I have done it seems like the lower end of that range would be better for roots/root growth since it forces the plant to suck up water and nutrients through the root ball rather than through the leaves like it would in a very humid environment. Does this make sense?

I ask this question because at this stage in my grow I am aiming toward growing the most solid root system possible since that's what will be driving nutrients to the buds during the flowering stage.

Depends on your temperature. A vegetative VPD chart is all you need.

Thank you! I just looked up the chart and its saying I should be aiming around 60%-65% at temps between 75-80 degrees.

Yeah sounds right. In veg I am around 77F and 62% RH.

I’ve been playing with VPD this grow.

I’ve been all over the place trying to dial in my new room. I tried 80% RH and my plants eventually stated having issues transpiring. The edges of my leaves started to raise up. Currently I’m locked in at 65%RH at 84F. My room bounces the temps from 82F to 86F. The RH will bounce around 73-60%. At lights off my room is around 72F. I do have a Dehum in there that will kick on at around 85% just in case if something weird happens in there.

my plants are praying hard and are thriving. I think I found my sweet spot for veg.

I got 7 strains in the same room. So this is essentially the happy point of everyone in the room. I would say half the plants started acting up above 70% RH. The other half really didn’t mind 80%RH.

I have Giesel, Bubba, sweat helmet, HP24 88613 (tester strain), strawberry banana, dreamberry, and strawberry akiel. Dream berry and strawberry were some seeds I found in my closet. The other five started as clones.


It’s gonna be tricky keeping everyone happy but I’m down for the challenge.
