NoviceKing,
Use the kit for cloning
Plant your seeds direct into the media
Kingrow1 was teasing...making fun of propagation kits

NK,
I'm currently using a 250w MH over seedlings for the first time . Previously I used T5-HO. So I don't have a long history of this...but the little ones seem to be loving it. Lamp height is 24" right now.

A MH bulb would give a more compact plant...but many HPS bulbs these days come in a more blue spectrum...which would work well also.

Bulb is Venture and was under $10 and around 4k color temp if memory serves.

Im sorry this is just laughing at the complexity some go to to germinate.

Just fill a small pot with soil, water till wet/runoff and plant the seed and leave ontop of you bedroom table or draws or shelf or similar with no nothing for a week.

Once you achive 100% germination 99% of the time your ready to get into other methods.

You want a seedling this is the way, room temp is fine just leave it.

Water when top of soil is dry or pot ferls like its lost 70% of its water weight at a guess for somthing visual or phyaical to cue off.

I soak for 24hours in a cup, that is the only extra step i add which you dont need yet becaude you dont need the accuracy of germination i do.

Kiss means use the simplest way to achieve desired results, it dosent say use anything else :-)
