Promix/roots organic replacement

If you already have the SS amendments why are you even buying any sort of bagged soil at all?

ProMix is little more than peat and perlite and a few lightly added amendments, which you probably already have with the SS ingredients.

PM is what?, ~$32 for a 3.8cf bale? I get a 3.8cf bale of Premier peat moss for ~$12 and a 4cf bag of perlite for ~$18.

For about the same $$$$ I get close to double the amount of base mix. I just do my own mixing instead of paying Premier to do it.

Use whatever soil makes you happy. All soil needs to be amended. Everything on it's own will have flaws. the real benefit is contrived when you mix the stuff up. If you plant into straight acidic peat soil your gonna have a crappy time.
