Prollem. infestation?

Yo. basically i have a plant. my first. and its in the 18th week. its budding and the buds are there its female. basically its got loads of little black flies tht keep turning up on it, and in the soil. i got rid of them i think for now by changing post n cleaqning out my cupboard. but. and its a very big but, from like a week after i noticed them the buds onn the plant started to smell nasty, not even like skunk, it s a musty smell. can someone tell me wat to do i dont want skunk dat dont smell like skunk. cheers in advance.

Sounds like you have two problems 1) fungus gnats (the little black flies) and 2) mold. It sounds like you took care of problem 1 (the gnats) but you'll have to trash the buds that smell of mold - separate the moldy plants from the OK ones. how are you ventilating? mold/fungus gnats are usually a sign of very high humidity and no air circulation.

to be honest im not, i have a lil fan that i turn on every now and then but it runs out of batteries very quik. i jus have it in the cupboard. so u say i should throw the plant away and start again?? cheers b.

i'm no expert so take my advice lightly! i will say that the musty smell of mold is a very bad sign and if you only have one plant, it is probably lost. I would wait to see what other posters have to say though.

how about some pictures? those would go a long way towards helping diagnose your problem.
