Progress So Far (Dated Pics)

The one on the right was transplanted to the hydroton from soil, and suffered a lot of problems. It recently recovered (nute deficiency/root rot/lots of dying leaves), so the condition is actually a blessing.

The one on the left, I bought as a clone, and had one incident involving the cube drying out while it was in the dome, but it recovered too.

Anyway, noobishness aside, I believe I finally have a handle on things.

I was really excited to see the progress, and just wanted to share. Time for a celebratory toke!

btw... the strain on the left is an indica called "OG", and the one on the right is of unknown bagseed origin.

Looks good to me, I was looking at buying the hydro pot system you have, how do you like it?

I like it. I took 2 concepts and blended them.

I have each bucket with about 2-2.5gal of nute solution with a bubble stone in the water, and a net pot lid on the bucket. Also, in the bucket I have a pump that top feeds the plants for 15 min every 3 hours.

So it's like a recycling top-feed DWC. Or something.

Just make sure to get the black buckets. The light penetrating the original colored buckets I used caused root rot. :-/

Update 3/12/2011 FINALLY IN FLOWER!

The first pic is moments before moving the ladies to their new deluxe flowering chamber (the other side of the closet). The second pic is under the golden hue of HPS finally:

Celebrating with some dehydrated oil, some PLANE WRECK from the local collective, and a bottle of wine. 'Tis a good day for me.

Very excited! Things are going well. 3 weeks into flower with more than I bargained for. These are going to yeild some major buds. However, it was my fault for poor space planning horizontally, as well as letting the one plant get to lanky and stretched in veg, leading to vertical issues also, but is seems to be doing okay despite its close proximity to the light.

Btw, I found that when photographing under HPS lighting, using the didymium glass I have for glass blowing filters out that nasty yellow color.

Almost time for my first harvest w00t! There are some nice buds, a bunch actually. The only bummer is the lower buds all stayed pretty under-developed, and some of the upper buds got burned :(... Oh well, live and learn. Anyway, not bad for my first grow. The biggest problem was just space, but at least I know I got it down for the next run that is already almost finished with veg.

The generation I started from the clones these plants produced will definitely not be out-growing their home. I have a new flower area I think will permit the size these ladies reached.
