Best to keep your personal life out of your job, whether it's weed or anything else. IMO making a decent living and even having a job is certainly a higher priority than getting high

First off I don't work least I want to but I did the 12 hr days for 30 years.
The problem with work and pot is.
In California if you own a business that has employees you will get cheaper rates
when you buy Mandated by the state of California Workers Comp. if you piss test.
It's the fight against Drugs thats fucking every thing up.
Could you imagine how many people would loose work if they shut down the
program??
And who will have to take care of those folks while they look for work? The State...
They can't do that. The prisons would be shutting down because theres less people breaking a stupid law.
I know many folks that have to piss test at random they hate/love me, and all say they wish they could relax with a smoke
instead of drink after work.
You want to legalize pot you better get some lawyers and make up some propositions to make the state
so they will think hey theres jobs, money in taxes and less Highway accidents.
And start there.

I really don't think pot will ever be legal. Dirtsurfr said it. There is just too many people making money on the war on drugs. Including the people making the laws. This is why I'm working on getting a degree in web development and programming so I can work off the internet.

eventually people notice that i'm a little odd and they come out and ask me if i "do or used to do drugs". since i don't discuss my diagnoses with randoms i'd rather they just think i'm like this because of the weed. so i'll say (in a clearly sarcastic way) "smoke pot? that's not even legal." and just keep it moving. maybe they think/know i smoke pot, maybe they think i'm just weird. i'll never confirm it either way at work or with a casual acquaintance. if a boss or something asks, i obviously flat out deny any illegal activity.

whether or not something is legal, people still have personal views on the subject. if these people are in a position to keep you employed, or are friends with them, you just have to keep certain things to yourself, for you own safety.

I worked freelance for a speaker company - they wouldn't hire me till I blazed one with them. Every time I showed up to do some work they would insist on getting me baked out of my mind beforehand. It was slightly ridiculous; I remember once arguing with them over doing my work and then smoking with them versus the other way around. "Please please let me do my job in a reasonable amount of time so you don't have to overpay me", "Nah man, just come smoke with the guys for a bit and then go do whatever, we'll pay you for the entire time man, its cool." Oh how I miss that job.

oh... the term hindsight is 20/20 is aways truer for ourselves than alot of others. i have missed so many opprotunities for lack of having the foresight to envision something spectacular it sickens me, if i had any more potential i would have to be twins

So true. Hindsight is always 20/20.... I wish I could smoke and go to school and work but for some reason. Every time I've gotten high in the past few weeks, I've "greened out". Idk what it is. I'm afraid I'll freak out at work or something.

I'm a caregiver

I need to smoke every day multiple times a day for my Rheumatoid arthritis and ulcerative colitis, so a corporate drug testing job is really out of the question,,,
