Hey RIU, been a while since I started a thread and never did a led only grow so here I am! The Procyon 300 is made in the USA ( I hope lol ) and after researching diff upcoming lights I decided to give this one a try. I've been posting in another thread about best LEDs and figured I'd start an exclusive thread for my grow so that I don't clutter that thread with updates. Feel free to google this led light so I don't have to explain in great detail about it ;p Below are pics of clones after one full week in 3 gal coco hempy buckets under this led :joint: thanks for tuning in.

Took a brief glance at the website, some flawed information on there. I also couldn't find where it said they were manufactured in the US, do you have a direct link to a page that says as much? Either way, interested to see what these can do.

Random fun fact, Procyon is the name of one of the brighter stars in the sky (undoubtedly why the company went with the name), but is also the genus of raccoons. There are only three species within the genus, all of them different varieties of raccoon. There are no other species or varieties within the genus, only when you go up one step into the family (Procyonidae) are there other species.

Sorry for the digression, but I think it's rather interesting.

I have heard of this star, and here's the link http://homegrownlights.com/300W.html

three species in that genus is kinda like sativa, indica and rudderalis. Cannabis has three too ... i'm a nerd.

Either way, I'm subbed. I want to see what that thing can do.

Yes, it's made in the US and packs Cree and OSRAM LEDs :D

Subbed up. I'm really interested to hear how tough it is to use the software to control spectrum.

Looks pretty straight-forward, with choose a date, click and drag, etc.. screenshot:

I'd like to volunteer for the beta test too, how does one sign up for it?! :D I'll even do grow videos, daily shots, demonstrating settings.. and pretty much pimping it (as long as it works properly) :P

Is it Mac-Friendly?

The guide says it's a windows program, but if it's written in java... not an issue, would be cross-platform and would work fine with Mac. I don't have specs on their software other than what the lil' pdf guide that's viewable says. I am curious though, will email them and see what info I can get.

I work with computers so I can't say it will be easy per say to set up the sun dial program, but for me it was a breeze and once done its set it and forget it for up to 60 days. Even being a beta tester it will cost 700 but I was willing to try it lol ...Thanks for everyone checking it out I will update pics once a week and answer questions anytime :)

700 vs the 1500 to flat out buy it + you get to provide beta input to improve it.. where's the issue? :D

I'm not computer-stupid, but Murphy's Law follows me around like my damn shadow! Looking forward to hearing your continued experience.

Cool stuff, thanks for the pic. Looks pretty straight forward (but I've found that sometimes looks can be deceiving) and EXTREMELY intriguing. I wonder if one could also simulate moon phases with this thing as well (if that's even a good idea).
