Problems with clones.. NEVER BEFORE!!!

Have taken clones 5-6 times now and every time (except 1st time) I have had close to 95-98% success rate. This time i did everything the same, I let my moms grow for 9+ weeks (read that at least 8 wks before clippping)

But foir some reason this time I have clones falling off like there is no tomorrow! Probably lost 25% already

Now In all fairness this is a new strain (W.W.X X Afghan Kush)

My only difference Is this time I tried using Rapid Rooters instead of my usual rockwool

Are those things a big pain in the ass? I was told "they are the shit!"

Cut 3 or 4 shallow (3mm) lines with razor blade (2") straight down the clones stem then cut a slanted piece (3/4") off at the end of the stem so it's pointy apply root hormone or not (isn't required) and stick it in medium (coco starter soil is good) and have constant indirect air flow on the clone(s). No humidity dome required. Just make sure the soil is always wet. Week an a half to two weeks and you're done. Would be a good idea to drill a few holes on the side of the pot to maximize air flow.

Yeah if your method was working but you chnged it, and now the new method isn't working then you have to go back to what was working, and it might just be a hard to clone strain...it is possible...so if the rockwool still fails you then you can look into a DIY cloner, because if it won't clone in a cloner then it just won't clone...lol

I find keeping the rapid rooters soaking wet will hold the roots back,
you could let them dry out, but so they are still a bit moist
be careful because those roots pop out pretty quickly. I've had 100% success keeping the rooters at a low moisture level.

They don't if you cut the stem properly and have the soil always wet. Not soaking. With good air flow. The growth will pretty much stop but the leafs should stay green.
