Problems in flowering

I am 4 weeks into flowering and i am having a problem with the lower and older leafs turning yellow and drying out then falling off. i am doing a DWC with a 400 watt HPS. A buddy of mine said that it was cuz of my nuts. He said that is common during flowering cuz of the lower nitrogen levels used during flowering. i just wanted to get a second opinion. Please help me relax with some help!

you can check out my grow for yourself, but i had the same problem and it didnt seem to hurt anything. powdery mildew and heri's are the killers of my room. yellowing leaves is normally a nitrogen deficiency, but it seems to me to be fairly normal during flowering on a low level. Jorge Cervantes who wrote the Ganga Bible says to wait till they are more than half dead before you pull them off. it lets the plant use all the nutrients in the leaf, and doesn't shock it. its not chocked cause its already dead.

Your buddy has the right of it. Less nitrogen is being used by the plant during flower. That is why towards the end of flowering (starting around half way through), you will begin to see some of the leaves starting to slowly turn yellow. It's fine. And yes, they will die and fall off. That's ok as well. Just don't let leaves lie around on the ground. Also, if you see any dead leaves inside of your plants, try to prune them out as well. This will help prevent powdery mildew from forming.. Good luck, and no stress. heheh. ;)
