Problem with taste?

So i have 2 new strains i just harvested for the first time... i did them both in the same fiber pot(only thing i did different from others) anyways they bothe came out looking and smelling amazing.... like so good... so i finally smoke them and they dont taste anything like the smell.. plain tasting... using foxfarm soil and feeding compost teas.. could the 2 in one pot affect taste? Shouldnt right? One was ethos grandpas cookies the other inhouse platinum x zkittlez.... halp!

Puctures of plants before harvest? Maybe bud shots too?

Sounds like you may have chopped early and the terpenes werent fully there, or you messed up the drying/curing stage.

I wouldn't think just FF soil and teas would be enough to fully sustain two plants in the same pot without adding some dry amendments. Maybe neither of the competing root systems got quite enough of all they needed to reach full potency?

Looks like they may have been chopped a bit early. This is coming from a guy who likes to chop my plants on the early side.

Some plants just don't have much of a taste, unfortunately.

Well we will see i guess on the next one.. i just dont know if i should keep them around or not

How many days or weeks in flower was she when you chopped?
I probably wouldve taken that another 14 days or so, depending on how bad i needed the space that is

About 11 weeks from the switch... i think i did something.. i pressed some and the flower rosin taste good

Quite often very strong above 28 %seems to me always lacks taste not punch but seems smell taste never match the buzz ..

2 in one is never a good idea in my opinion ever ..just my thoughts

You know good simple way to tell is get a magnifying glass or your macro zoom on phone zoom in to flower look at trichomes everyone seeens to think differently on this but I find that 1/3 amber to 2/3 milky is optimal an you’ll probably find also that the last two weeks is the hardest to wait the smells there looks good often another simple way is to cut a prime bud up high off an let it start drying in the day or two of it being removed even hours they tend to smell quite bit like grass when you picked it to early where as picked ripe you start to smell turps an it’s true smells .
as with all my posts I’m new to indoor still learning don’t think I’ll ever stop learning just my thoughts

10 weeks it went.... gonna let them go longer and hope they cone out different in their own pots ... i know everyone says 1 per pot lol short veg time and they are in 10gal didnt think it would be a big deal

The smell is so good... like so so good... hoping its a fluke n i screwed it up

10 unless very lucky an it happens you won’t get the right type yet usually 12 or week ether side depending but if it’s just smoko you want don’t really care for the turps or the rest 10 will do

It’s not just flukes that do that mate just good seeds right soil an easy run will get you that every time it’s all in the

One other thing that’s if you don’t cure things properly likely not to get what turps could have been out of it ..
simple cure method cut small limbs dry handing nut bashing against each other hanging each free 50% huumidy an temp of about 20-25 Celsius an watch when stems start to make cracking sounds not breaking clean but you can clearly hear drying but not over dry drop into a good sized jar compared to amount drop a humidity gusher into your jar look fir around 50-60% humidlyopen daily fur a few days an watch the smell each time it opens get better . This is a simple method an ofc depending on environment hard to do always but try find this kinda area space often a wardrobe is good due to sealed an bit more controlled my method
