Problem with short-pass

Hello,

I'm working with the Equipment: (short-pass, vacuum, controller vacuum and circulator) and want to start my fractionate distillation on raw oil. I switch on the vacuum, controll the stability of it and go as high as i can with it (1 kPa). Then i start raising gradually the temperature slowly (i have a probe Inside the liquid to controll the temperature).
I have to go to 250 C* to have ebulltion, even higher to have my first oil fraction, and i don't understand why. Furthermore, i afraid to degrade the cannabionoïd.

I really need your help on this because i tried to change all the parameter and it doesn't seem to affect the process. Can you help me?

It sounds like you either having a problem with the condenser temperature or having an issue with pulling down vacum?

You need a stronger vacuum pump. I promise that is your problem. More vacuum, less heat is needed to distill (evaporate) our cannabinoids as an absolute.

Is there a thread that discusses making distillate at home? Their answers a bunch of questions like what to buy and what not to buy .
And then what to do once you have all the equipment.

Head over to future4200. You'll learn more over there for extracts in 7 days than you will in years on a grow forum.

To make distillate, you need quite an elaborate setup

Glassware kit for a 2 liter will run about 1000

Powerful enough vacuum (I own a welch 1400 and a 1402, and an Edward's spedivac). You should be hitting about 200 microns or lower for proper distillation.
New runs about 2900, used can be found for about 500-800

Chiller/ heater recirculator
Used they run about 1500

And miscellaneous odds n ends. I have a 600 bullseye vac gauge

And then you need to know how to setup, use, run successfully. And you need crude material to put in the spd system.

Crude = ethanol extract, iso extract, or bho. Must be winterized, decarbed, degummed of possible.

It can definitely be done for cheaper once you have it down. But if you're starting as a novice in the organic chemistry world, then yes it will be very hard to create the conditions you need throughout the system cheaply. But I have built $1,000 systems for buddys using cheap glass, and plug in heating coils using a regular water pump and monitoring temperatures. But mind you this is with a very good understanding how everything works, and why everything works the way it does.
