That would be an exhaust right?

How did you keep your room with nice air?

Oh with that passive intake...but its so small.

How can setup up these passive intakes?

Thx sk3tch3, now i only need to buy one fan according to you.

6 plants is the max im trying to grow.

I just hope the carbon filter works.

Nonetheless is there anyway to make rooms airtight?

Like better doors or something?

i built my room in my basement out of a 2x4 frame and plywood. caulkd the cracks. used pana poly to make the door with a zipper that has adhesive from the grow shop. the box my ballst came in, i modified to fit a camfil air filter in and seald with gurilla tape. i brought the fresh air from whole to the outside via ducting.. my fan was hooked to the other side of the room and had a "Y" splitter on it. it drew air from the room and at the same time hooked to my lights. my lights were on a closed system sucking air from my basement. the intake whole was above the filterd intake for the room. i have pics of everything in my old grow journal. operation knock your d!ck in the dirt.
my ved room was made from a 2x4 frame and panda poly. had a 50$ el cheapo inline for exaust and a camfil air filter attatched with guerilla tape. both worked incredibally well. im tearing it down cause im moving though.

I noticed you only used one side of ducting.

Is intake really necessary?

I mean if you have an exhaust taking the hot air out, and placing co2 in the grow room along with a oscillating fan is should be fine correct?

Here is what i'll probably do buy a 6" vortex fan for exhaust, and cut a hole somewhere at the bottom outside the grow room and place a vent with an suncourt 6" duct booster fan for intake (that would be a passive intake correct?)

But what tools would i need to cut holes in thick wood?

having no fan, not even a booster fan is a passive intake, when the exaust is "pulling".

i dont run co2. if you have your exaust on all the time with co2, it will be a waste. you have to close your lights. (air cooled and sealed) and have a second fan forjust your room. hook this second fan up to a thermostat controler, they cost around 100$. when your temps get to high it will kick your fan on and suck all the air out

Hmmm, this is confusing, im sorry for asking to many questions though.

To hell with it, i'll just get the vortex for exhaust and the suncourt for intake
both will be on the outside wall of the grow room.

That has to be effective.

Im just worried the suncourt won't be effective cause it's cheap.

As for odor i'll get a air tiger (ozone generator) for inside the growroom. (is that safe?) along with a carbon filter.

I guess ducting won't be nesscary for that i just plan for my ventilation to be right outside my grow room.

Or maybe it will to cool the lights down eh.

I just hope everything falls in place.

Does anybody know if i'll be able to fit a carbon filter and
ducting on to this fan?

And i would just like a straight forward answer,
so there is no confusion.

Will it get the job done to cool down my grow?

6 plants maximum in a 7ft (height) x 5ft (length) x 2ft (width)
closet with a 600 watt light?

you'll need 6in ducting... and might need to custome make a carbon filter for it..... i dunno if something storebought would work with it...

it might... i just wouldn't know... i'm making my own, so thats not really a worry of mine...

it will be fine to vent the room... its in the math

your room has what, 70cubic feet?
that things blwoing at 300cfm

that means every minute, you've replaced the air in your room four times

thats plenty good

but if you have an aircooled hood for your light, i would consider getting another fan and attach it to the hood... that would really help in keeping things nice and cool (and you could go for the smaller 200cfm fan for the hood to save money...)

best of luck

I'm getting stressed, i was at another forum
and they claim that those lights (i posted above)
won't work for crap.

And they claim you don't want to skimp out in ventilation.

Nonetheless i told that fan is giving out 300 cfm, so
i don't understand why these fans would not work.

I'm getting a easycool 6" reflector.

So your saying to put in a fan in the cooling flange eh?

I might have to tape it down so it will fit in there.

As for a carbon scrubber could i make one that would fit that fan?

...why can't anything work without hassle.

with that reflector, just hook some duct to the flanges, and either keep the intake open and draw in air from the grow room... or have it ducted to an out of the grow room area to pull in clean air... depends on whether or not you want to make one or two carbon scrubbers... and yes... you can make a carbon scrubber fairly easily... have you checked the DIY section in the grow faq?? =]

and yeah, i know what you mean about the hassle... :spew:

With this light, how much do you think you can yield per plant?

High Tech Garden Supply

Yea, thats what i was thinking make a carbon scrubber, which would be cheaper.
Along with a ion generator for the odor.

One exhaust up top and intak at bottom.

The intake i plan on is taking air from my room to put it in the grow room (my closet)
same with the exhaust except its blowing air out in to my room.

I'll need some airtight doors though.

BTW, what fans do you guys use for ventilation, like what brand an how much you payed for?
