Problem keeping room cool....

Hello everyone! Having a problem keeping temps down in an 8x8 insulated room. I have inline fan ducting ran to pull heat out and and 8k btu ac unit running but have still hit the 90 degree mark on occasion. Warmer temps outside have been mostly to blame. Someone told me that it may ruin my plants. They look really healthy in week 2 of flower. Stretching nicely and taking in all nutrients daily. Those temps will ruin my plants? Outdoors gets above 90 often and it doesn't get ruined. Any thoughts?

Well, it depends on your definition of ruined. It's been a while, but if I remember correctly, cannabis growth slows at 85 and stops at 95.i read that somewhere quite a while ago, so I'm not sure if it still holds true.

Unless you're using co2. Then mid 80s I believe is ok.

Heat rises so I have always ventilated from as high as I could go. Your intake should be on the bottom because cold air settles.

What kind of ac unit are you running and how is it installed? Through the wall? Humidity and heat are the waste products of air-conditioning. You could be heating your intake air if your running a window style ac unit. Portable ac has a discharge ducting to route the heat and humidity away.

I dont think your grow will be ruined your buds won't be dense as hot Temps usually make for fluffy buds. They will be drinking alot more so take that into account when you fertilize. Id adjust the nutrient strength to accommodate the frequency of watering.

Running a window unit with an A/C infinity inline fan. Ducting is towards top of the room to pull out heat. My oscillating fan is however mount 4 foot up the wall. Should I up the nutrients? Right now just giving them the recommended ml/gallon ratio. Plants look great and are shooting pistols in week 2. Just don't want to screw up yield/quality because of the heat. Thanks!

More heat= more transpiration= more uptake of water, so you do not want to feed more nutrients.

Are you having the lights on at night... and during the hot day you have the lights off....

I have them on at night. Coolest part of the day, but daytime temps here are into the high 80's already. Not getting too cool at night anymore. Should I back off the nutes a bit?

I have a 8k btu window AC mounted in my wall, I decided to try a sealed room, I took it apart and sealed the foam and painted it. High 80s will be bad later more then 2 weeks in, feed light and try and pay attention to vpd if it’s on the hot side, it’s really hard to correct a tox compared to def. I would kill watts later in flower if it gets bad.

Keep lots of air flow, don’t burn them but threaten them. I’m mid 80s week 7 right now. I keep the room 10f lower lights out, the AC runs because of the dehumidifier. And yeah, heat stress can ruin the buds or at least reduce smoke quality more then potency in my experiences.

Ok. Thanks. Only a 5k btu a/c unit in the room now but have a 10k unit being delivered wednesday. 5 weeks to go in flower. Anything I should be adding at this point for bigger more dense buds? Any help is appreciated!
