Pro Mix HP Super Soil

Was wondering if I used pro mix hp for super soil base. Would it cover the aeration and peat portions? I’ve always amended Happy Frog, Bone/ Blood Meals Etc along with Pro Mix. Thanks for replies. I want to start my cooking by the end of the week.

Don’t see why promix wouldn’t work. I use it for base in my seedling mix, no issues. If you are using a really heavy compost you may need to add a bit more aeration at the end, but I like the ease of the promises as it is already limed.

Thanks guys. I’ve got the peralite, blood meal, bone meal, rock dust, worm castings, langbenite, dolomite lime, kelp meal, alfalfa, epsom salts, fish bone meal, crab & lobster shell and composted sheep - cow manure. 2nd QUESTION will this be everything I need?

That is a long list of stuff! I’d go lite on the high P amendments, phosphorous is always over applied in these pot recipes and can have major impact on nutrient availability. Also P leeches incredibly slow, if you start testing your soil you’ll see you very rarely need to add P After a run.

Honestly you could grow beautiful plants in straight manure compost if it is aged properly. Keep it simple, watch out for salts, manure usually is heavy in salts so I’d be weary of adding all those ocean based amendments real heavy.

Yep simple amendments over laundry list.

Add more perlite ( 25-30 % ) , EWC , Myco , Kelp.
Pro mix has myco already but I try to keep amounts thriving by bumping with Recharge or Great White .
And an simple teaspoon of molasses to feed myco mixed with watering. Kelp added to water during both veg and flower instead of synth boosters.
To me a simple living soil beats throwing kitchen sink at it.
