Thats why they need so many non violent offenders in those prisons...so they can underbid everyone else and pay those prisoners 15 dollars a day to do hard labor...they know theyre not a physical threat at least.
There are privatized prisons, not all of them though.

There are many bad people within the government, mostly those in charge of things. Law enforcement is also a habitat of real assholes, for the most part. seems like a prerequisite for the job. There are other positions that are usually staffed by wonderful caring people like my local VA center. The people are friendly, curteous and caring. They treat me like I'm somebody and I never have to wait more than 5 minutes past my due time. in fact there is a dictate that if it is 7 minutes past your due time, go to the counter and complain.
Now my private Dr.s office wait time is a minimum of 30 minutes to as much as 90 minutes to get seen. Which one is more proficient. Let me answer that for you that say government is incapable of running a medical entity. It is the government, hands down.

Gov owned but subcontracted services with an occasional tender process to determine what company gets the contract.

Yes, I think most things like parks and even prisons would be much better run in the private sector and they would be more cost effective.

It is simply the way government works. A bureaucracy is given a budget. If they dont use all the money in that budget then their budget is cut. It enforces overspending, fraud and waste. A private corporation looks for ways to save money to either make more profit or lower prices to be more competitive.

Greed is not necessarily a bad thing.

What I find funny is when an entity is more private, the public has more say and ability to question their activities. When an entity becomes more public, it's actions are well hidden and the excuse is protection. Whether from domestic or foreign. Yet in reality it's to hide their plans for domination.

And as far as the old coot Medman is concerned, I wish he's get back into action here. I miss pounding him with the jackhammer of truth.

Hey Med ... I sincerely hope you're OK.

That's exactly right. With private ownership comes the need to satisfy the customer first. Without customer satisfaction, there is no income and no profit. With government ownership, profit isn't an issue ... and neither is customer satisfaction.

And Apple, Ebay, Disney, Dell, Trek, Ford, Century 21, Prudential, State Farm, Farmers ....

Capitalism is the best system on the planet for creating wealth and a great standard of living for anyone who wants it and is capable of reaching it. On the other hand, crony capitalism is ruining the country ... along with outlandish union demands.

Well Before the Unions. Companys would Promise to pay one wage and pay a lower wage. And you had to take it because you had a Family to feed.

Unions were around when all those companies prospered. Unions started forming in the 1850's.
