exactly, you cant buy experience, it is learned, but not from store bought soil, it teaches you nothing and you are relying on what someone else tells you is a good amount of guano, bone/blood meal, humus, rock phosphate, lime blah blah blah. experience teaches that in organics

Shit, I was arguing with a guy yesterday because he said his nute line determined potency and having a selectively bred high potency plant that is healthy throughout the grow had nothing to do with it. Now thats funny. He was convinced that the selective breeding had nothing to do with the modern strains and that the plants had just evolved and the nute lines/additives are just that much better than a few years back

Im guessing you will read me say that selective breeding is the reason for the modern weed and that it hasnt evolved into a new plant, then I compare it to the snakes I breed by saying selectively bred snakes make certain morphs, some worth $20 and some worth $20,000 dollars, but they are still the same snake that eats the same food, then you say you are going to save that because its comedic gold. I dont remember what thread it was in so post the link, my memory is great. I found it, its in the nutrient section under nutrients to imptove flowering, I say its a simple fruiting plant that has the same basic requirements its had forever, you say its not a fruiting plant and that the nutes have made it better, I say its selective breeding and you say the plant has evolved, I got it now

wow, wtf happened to this thread? this is OP here, so what about this advice I got to remove all the yellow leaves? I'm trying to figure out if that was a mistake or not because that's what I thought, that it as drawing nutrients through the leaves and not through the soil. A friend who's grows speak for themselves told me to remove all yellow growth so it doesn't spread and to take everything off the bottom to direct the energy to the upper part of the plant. Was this good advice? or should I have corrected the nutrient problem before removing leaves?
see at this point the yellowing is continuing onto green leaves now and Im starting to get concerned about losing this whole plant to yellow leaves.
a little more info: yeah these are 2 gallon pots, I ordered some 3 gallon smarties for my next grow and already have 4 new sprouts in a coco/perlite mix. This was my first grow. 5 plants - 1 turned out female. used shitty soil. had a lot of heat problems for a while. Now all that's under control im wondering if its deficiency or over-nuting. There ARE burnt leaf tips, but its 3 months old so the time released nutes should be gone and I only fed veg nutes twice and flowering nutes once, in very light concentrations w/ cal mag. Just don't want to lose this lady, its starting to really spit out some gooey stuff but the yellowing is creeping toward the top.

removing yellow so it doesn't spread? never heard that. Makes no sense either. removing bottom growth, heard of that. Never tried it, but have read it, known as lollipopping.
Someone once said a healthy plant's lower buds should still develop. Idk. Mine weren't healthy, im a noob too.
Old burned growth does not mean new growth is on verge of being burned.
I would do as sum1 here said. water with reg phd water and see if it gets worse or better in a few a couple days. Im no expert clearly, but you can also add nitrogen and see if it gets better, stops, or worsens.

did you get anything off of that older plant? This is my first grow and my flowers, though just starting, look SOOORTA like that. I included a pic in the OPOn the contrary, time released soils are the WORST for newbies. Most newbies start reaching out for help after their time released soil starts causing them problems and they don't know WTF is going wrong
