Praying leaves

A friend asked me what it means when the sprout (just just 1 true node) and the leaves both point (nearly) directly up. Making a V shape.

I figured it was too much light. I've heard plants do this to reduce the angle/amount of light received.

Any other thoughts?

Are you talking about the structure of the leaf where the outer edges of the leaf are pointing up while the inside of the leaf is lower, effectively making the leaf into a cup shape,if so then it's too hot & the leaves are telling you to lower temps.

You could also be talking about the entire leaf pointing upwards in a V shaped fasion, where there is no visable damage or deformaties to the leaf, the leafs will look allmost like a pair of praying hands reaching twords the light,if this is the case your good to go,i take this as a good sign,i experience this when my plants are very happy & room conditions are near perfect.

Yes, like praying V's... no cupping.

Sweet deal. He had a single 26w 2700K in his box. Took it out and they're returning to normal. One sprout apparently got scorched by it(K-LITE brand, turned slightly yellowish where tubes meet ballast). Replaced with 26w GE daylight, and temps are cooler.

He doesn't have thermometer. Just uses his hand. :wall:
