Praying leaves

Seems the praying stops after buds have started forming, just looking at some of my old pics.No praying at week 4 ish but lots at week 2.
I believe once the calyxes start stacking, they keep the leaves from being able to rise up.

i can not find it anymore but there are studies saying its a defense mechanism vs. light.
they try to collect less photons this way and let more to the lower less saturated leaves.

plants have not many ways to signalize things, so prob the praying have several meanings.

based on my personal observations.
a plant blasted with too much light in veg over a too long period is showing droppy leaves.
basically one can see when the plant start to drop at the end of the day, if its long before the end of the day its maybe a tad too much.
if shes droppy allday, its too much since longer and action should be taken.

in flower things are changing, too much light dont provoke anymore this droppy leaves.
in contrary, maybe shes praying too much if given too much light (see above).

i left once my 730nm far red on the whole night by accident.
if you want to see heavy unatural praying try it, give just 730nm.
should have taken pictures it was funny to watch, am sure its easy to reproduce.

I bet leaf temp has something to do with it as well
This.
Put fan on more speed --> lowered temps and more airflow thru plants --> leafs perked up in flower. Now also hitting green numbers in VPD chart. With more temperature leaves seem to be more chill, and not perked up.

Also wondering if its a good thing or too cold. But plants look so nice, cant be very bad.

i could not find the study anymore.
its not science, just grow weed easy but could imagine its based on the study.
i think whats described is only true when our plants are in flower and there are more factors influecing it, like mentioned VPD, stimulants etc.

i think little praying is a good sign, if it goes over certain angle its unatural for me.
the 730nm as only light source at night was a eye opener, leaves poinitng up like crazy while the plant should have slept.

A very good take on it, IMHO.

My plants are an good shade of green, not too dark and not too light. The growth rate is good, I go in my tent once a day and they look more developed each time.

It's usually the super stout ones that pray the most. Like not only the leaves but all the branches just want to shoot straight up and are hard to lst. In my experience it's a good trait as long as the leaves aren't tacoing or showing stress.
