thakks 2 u guys aswell

all the info is very helpful

thanks rep 4 u guys aswell

hydro ph should be maintained between 5.2 - 5.8. some ph buffers affect ppm readings dramatically. What type of ph down are you using? You should also calibrate your meters everytime you change the batteries, or at least once a month.
Your water is fine you don't need expensive water with your readings. If you must, don't use brita water filtered water. The charcoal put bad micro's into the water and distilled water removes too many helpful elements. I try to grow in the winter. Since I live in the great white north I use SNOW! Always perfect on for mixing nutes and adjusting PH. I noticed you have what looks like the Continuous meters. If so how are they working for you, Have you used them in a grow yet?

some nutrients are acidic so will lower pH.
Most hydro nutes include pH buffers which will set the pH very close to 5.8 when the solution is at the recommended strength.

As usual, the potster is spot on. Mix for ~1400ppm, ck pH, adjust as required with phDown.

I'd love to hear what he says! How the hell do you check out somebody's post? Been trying to get some good info on some of the combo meters but there is little help from the search function on this site.
