That's pretty high. My baseline is 60-75PPM. The highest solution I use is around 1400-1600 depending how the plant is taking it and your already half way there. I'd try to get a filter even a cheap Brita to get your PPM down.

i am talking about the straight tap water. if i want 1600 for fast growers, then i would make it 1600+700 so 2300 ppm after i dose. but i have heard that the stuff in the 700 ppm water is harmful to plants??????

How are you going to water your younger plants? That water's too hot for the young ones. :peace:

Wow, way too high PPM for clone or veg,
my tap water comes out 250 and i find it's too much PPM for clones to start fast,
let alone young Veggin plants,
i don't pass a 700PPM mark till i'm just about to turn to the flower stage or after!

Get a filter man, Big Time!

Think about it? If you got 700PPM in your tap water or the water your going to be using you have almost 10X the amount of solids I do. What is all that crap Calcium, Fluoride, crap in your pipes etc. Depends on where you live? These chemicals and particles to a certain extent will effect your nutes. That's why most people try to keep their PPM as low as they can. I water my younger plants at about 150-250PPM.

thank you. but how exactly would it burn the seedlings or clones if it isnt the nutrients that plants use?

also, is there a way for me to bring it down without an expensive ro system?

It can cause certain nutes to be locked out.

It doesn't matter whether or not your water contains the nutrients the plants use. Plants can get nutrient burn from over exposure to any mineral. :peace:

damn. do you think it is possible that i will be alright depending on what is in the water? or am i doomed?

Take a few cuttings and see what happens to them with just straight PH tap water, then add nutes to one and see if it gets worse or better.

You can get RO water at the grocery store out of one of those machines for like 25 cents a gallon and mix it with your tap water to bring the ppm down to acceptible levels.

yeah i have thought about that. but i woould need 60 gallons to change 2 resevoirs and about15 for my aerotub. that would suck and look suspicious.

i guess im looking at ro but my money situation is fucked. may have to prostitute myself out. i hear gay guys will pay me to blow me. lol who woulg have imagined that.

im wondering if something like pur faucet would help. it is different then ro isnt it? what are the types of filtering availble besides ro?

thanks for all your input.

no no no. im saying the fags would blow me. but i was joking anyway.

so i went to walmart and saw a filtrete system. then i went to the mega hardware store and i found some under the sink systems that look good but i dont know if they will be good enough. the first one says 40 microns and it is for sediment and rust and gets rid of chlorine taste. i dont think this will be good enough. there was one that was 5 microns. is anyone familiar with these systems?
