i have a nft table 5 plants a foot tall over a month old.my ph is .5.8 ,ppm 1398 but water is 333ppm .temp between 70 and 80 .on 600 hps 1 foot above plants.

You still count your water PPM toward your total PPM. And do you know why your water is so hard? Meaning which minerals make up that 333? You can find your local water report online or ask them to mail you one. They are required to test twice a year and to make those results public.

As to PPM. My water is 88 PPM and mostly made up of magnesium and calcium. My hydro grows start at no more than 145 - 150 for clones and seedlings and then is gradually increased. In any regard my PPM never exceeds 700 depending on strain and the few times it has the plants have shown lockout or burn immediately.

You may well be advised otherwise but I believe your solution PPM is far too high.

hard water is full of calcium
calcium and nitogen are antagonistic one to the other
your plants are choking on calcium
try some phed r/o water or distilled water from the store for several waterings and see if that doesn't clear it up

btw -- in soil i feed at 700-900 ppm in veg and my runoff is 1200-1400 average

Even .7 1333ppm still to high
Do u know what ppm meter ur using?
Are u sure it is properly calabrated ?
If u have cut a lot of the roots off then the plant is yellowing because it dosnt have the roots to properly sustain itself so its taking what it needs from what it has stored eg leaves

ok ive diluted my res to 1000 m exact that includes my tap water.
its a blue rohs meter.
the comment from nay47 and shagalicious combined sounds like my problem .
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]im going to give it a few days on the straight 1000 if it don't work try buy some water unless you guys think i have still gone to high.
i also put 1 in canna terra pro soil to test the change between hydro and soil.

I have an nft system and the plants can't take more than 400 ppm at the high point. 180 during veg. Pants are very sensitive in nft systems. This is my current grow... Using Lucas formula also. You should be using ro for that system....or distilled from a store..
