Powerfull light cause hermies?

Im able to keep my 400w hps 2 inchs from my plants and they seem to love it?
No sighns of burns or nothin..

So i look in my room and my mother plant i decided to flower has turned hermie? i have other clones
in the same room and they are fine can plants sometimes hermie on their own?
I dont have any light leaks lights from 11 to 11 i dont see how it could have stressed at all.
Only thing is to much light i read im getting hundred thousand lumens with the light that close

I ran a 400w hps at 4 inches youll get around 143,239 lumens p/foot.. wouldnt recommend any closer than 4/5 inches i kept mine about 6-8 inches from tops.. Light stress and heat stress may turn hermi.. Or other factors..

any plant subjected to this light intensity will have problem's...what do you think you are acomplishing?...if one is good ten must be great! what you don't understand is plant's can only use 45,000lumen's and all other's are wasted! even at 45,000 it should only sustain for short period's and the only time a lamp may be thie close is in closing phase when leave's no longer photosynthisize...your just cooking the thc off!!!70 degree's above that you are vaperozing the only thing you want!!!THC>>>>>I can't understand your thinking..plant's cower and stunt under these condition's this is as absurd as pierceing the stem's to try to get better bud..if you need to do this what does that tell you? There is no light indoors that will give anywhere near as many lumens as the sun so I would say that is not a problem. I run my air cooled 600s about 8".

they can hermie on there own or it could be heat I don't think its too much light could you hold your hand at canopy level without felling too warm like over 95 degrees that could be a problem

what are you using for your walls it looks like either aluminum foil or emergency blankets you woul do a lot better with mylar flat so there are no hot spots or flat white paint if it is mylar its wrinckled to shit it needs to be put up properley for max reflection and no hot spots and if they are emergency blankets or foil that shit needs to go not a bad grow though could be better but not bad

I plan on moving the light up today no tempature stays around 86, I tan get my hand within a half inch of the light and feel no burn as i have a fan
blowing air from the bulb. I will move it today. gonna move it 4 inchs and see how they like it

I dont believe that heat causes hermies either. It gets to 115 in California and those plants arent more prone to hermie.

You win the prize very good emerg.blanket's as I am home to take care of wife with hasamoto's and am scraping bottom to make this work (no money comming in!) will grow 4 more then upgrade room only essential's now Co2 and light and fox farm..now epsom salt ha ha....It could allway's be better it's "Acceptable" at this time...long time out door grower 45 year's...new to indoor but have no choice......last crop was better, from seed's these clone's don't have as much jump in the grow! Have to do thing's little different due to my circumstance's sometime's 4-5 day's between "Visit's" it's in the cellar but can't leave wife when awake and sometime's even when sleeping...so it's the best now with these circumstances...have checked with my lux meter really no hot spot's just a few lower reading's 6" from wall's..Buds look lot's better today after feeding and epsom salt's (had mg deficiency show yesterday!) still not comfortable growing small plant's...used to above my head cali sativa's..never grew to many hybrid's or indica's so these strain's I have to learn the intracacies of this type of grow but my room run's auto most of the time water (Nutes when mixed ahead of time) light's Co2 and A.C......not the way to grow!! Now let me pick your brain as obviously you are versed in this ....white flat paint or mylar? secound question sir...how dense should room be not to waste the light...have 145,000 luminex with enhanced 450nm,and 3 uvb reptile lamps 65,000 lux at canopy...I have 6 plant's this grow last grow was 4 62" lst'd..was suprised with quality as I used some seed's I had stashed, G13/haze that rocked my sox...and 3 of these are clone's and the other three are clone's of what I thought was LSD but it's lamb's bread and wow. How big is your grow space? type set-uo hydro soiless?? Just move my light up 14 inchs that 4 inchs was a typo im 1 week into flower so i will slowly lower it

Grew out door's in cali 22 years except for death valley once in a century!!! and the sativa's are not what you are growing 10-15 foot plant's!!!

Blunt...That's not pissy I'm 62 and I know pissy! I envy your space! How expensive was the polly? just wondering how long it'll take me to upgrade!! And you must buy the pro-mix local? I bought a roll 10'x100' for like $70 you just build a frame and staple it up for walls and ceiling just put some tape up to hold the staples in place so it don't tear and you tape the seams so no light leak I bought a tarp zip-up for the door and a fan and filter it is a lot cheaper than plywood but I had to order the poly online cause I live in the sticks and the closest hydro store is a 2 1/2 hour drive but I got the pro-mix at agway or true value its not hard to find I called a few places home depot told me they where out of stock but they do sell it and I get the one with mycorrizae its a little more but its good for the plants its like 30-40 bucks a bail but it goes a long way

so You make a roof with it too? My plywood was recycled from a demo down the road so it was free just had to buy drywall screw's so that's why I went that way!....I thought the poly would be more expensive! How heavy is it thick..Did you use 2X4's or 1X2's?
