Powder Mildew / harvesting

If a plant has powder mildew, once I chop her down to dry will it continue to produce spores? from my understanding, the plant itself is sick on the inside and the powder mildew (spores) are like the flowers of the disease. Once i cut to dry, will I continue to have this issue or will the mildew stop appearing?

you gotta chop all the affected areas otherwise it will spread, I'd also do a quick dry to prevent more weight loss due to mold.

stop appearing wher ont the dry plant? once the plant is dead it will basicly die with the plant. the spors can probly survive a wile. i would remove from rest of the crop if any. and clean the room it was growing in. PM is usually caused by poor ventilation..

Ya my vent system could be upgraded, I'm just working in an area that restricts me to a certain vent location.

@Maps...quick dry to not lose bud weight as in quanity?

Surely you aren't trying to find out if it will be alright to use...because it will not... or should not... but the mold will eventually dry... the problem is that it thrives in warm humid dark places...the best thing you can do is get rid of any buds that appear to have the slightest bit of mold, and you can smell it...so...yeah...trim off anything with mold on it now not later...and then clean everything out and make sure it is at a lower humidity for awhile, so no open water in the area and such...make it clean, make it dry, if possible make it cold, make it bright, and after you have done all these things then it is alright to use the space for other plants... but you can't smoke moldy weed, it tastes gross and can cause serious respiratory issues...

Dammit man! I am glad it is dry where I am. Kinda...I mean stuff dries out too much, but fewer mold issues.

the mold is not out of control, I've been on top of it using a PM wash, by NPK industries, it hasn't really attacked the buds from what I can see, it's more on the lower stems, I have been cutting infected areas off, if there are no traces of mildew on the buds themselves would they be fine to smoke?

if there is no mildew on or IN buds you are good..... otherwise hash bag it up! You can use a fugally dominated compost tea but ifthat befuddles keeep using your wash. then you should correct you ventalation and get some air in there or a dehumidifier dont let your work go to waste.... is your medium retainingtoo much moisture? that could cause problems too...

I"m using fox farms ocean, so my medium holds just the right amount of moisture I would say. I just sacrificed one of my fire og plants because it seems that she was the one most ill. Too much mildew on her so I took her out of my room. Next grow I"m definitely going with a dehumidifier and better ventilation system. So as long as I stay on top of the mildew problem and don't let it progress to my flowers, they should be okay to smoke, right?

ya, I've seen that, I'm just skeptical about submerging my plants. but after watching this again right now (couch locked) I realized that Mr. Cervantes knows what he's doing, and if in the end I feel it be necessary, my kids are going swimming.

submerging your plants works great ... if you can get accomplish it without a great deal of mess. I had PM problems with my soil grow consider simply letting your soil dry more and getting a fan to point at the bottom portion of your plant/s

i only harvested a few plants so i ended using half of the solution like, 2.5 Gal of water to 1/2 cup of peroxide. Next week I'll be harvesting a lot more.
I didn't need to skim the top, because the plants i harvested were not that infected, but yea i plan on using a sponge next week.

oh just a note on that fox farms dirt its good stuff but generally needs to be lightened cause it holds water a bit long perlite can change that.

Miscbrah.....did your buds take longer to dry?
I had my buds in jars in 4 days(srs)....I actually put them in jars after just 3 days, but took them out and bagged them for 1 extra day then they were perfect, then continued the curing process.
