pots with out drains????

My experience is the 2 gallon is best overall with no real difference in final product. Bigger 3/5 gallons take more space so less plants can be grown. Comparing root balls I am not seeing much difference 2,3 and 5 gallons. Remember, this is a 9 to 11 week plant to finish. The rootball doesn't have enough time to grow out of the 2 gallon pot in most every pot I've seen. Now this is a nature product so I have seen the occasional clone that turned for some odd reason into super clone or midget clone. Not wasting my time with anything other then 2 gals. now with a couple 3 gallons when vegged a long, long time...my of research....

This is a great suggestion and I will definitely be using these for my next transplant. I just paid 6 bucks a piece for some pots at Walmart and Walmart is cheap in the grand scheme. Was wondering how durable the the bag pots are and if you have ever had one tear or break?

I guess? Smart pots are made of mesh material. The entire pot has holes and it keeps roots growing differently then normal pots. Better? Interesting idea but Unless you have grown a test group of more then 6 clones from same plant 3 smart pot and 3 normal pot same size I wouldn't be able to believe it. Have you done that kind of research? I know a little about pots and that pot is more marketing then anything. I would like to see you compare 2 and 3 gallon pots both smart and normal plants. That way we could get an idea if both pot type and size pot should show trends you could believe in or continue a test group till your convenced. Result..better grow with more plant to space ratio...sorry on a roll...

They are strong bags. At least the ones I have. You can pack the sheet out of em with dirt. I suggest it. I'd say mine are well over 2 gals. packed with dirt. They don't say but I'd say 8 mil or more tarp material. The only tear was when I tried to take a masking tape off and the glue sticking was super so it ripped. Dumb ass me now I only put new tape over old....lol. Multiple grows for sure but really .20 cents....lol.

I am too new of a grower to say weather they are 100 times better, nor would I ever spend the time growing with various pots like you mention. Your on a roll with logic, but not with the science.

Man, you're going to have one hell of a case of root rot if you use pots with no way to drain.

Air root pruning pots have been proven to not only work but to work very well. Air root pruning keeps roots from circling the pots they are in and that equates to a healthier more vigorous growing plant. There is nothing special about cannabis plants that would keep them from benefiting from air root pruning just the same as other plants and trees and bushes grown in air root pruning pots.

its not that i want a pot with no holes i want to make my own hole 2 inch from bottom i want to do hempy bucket with perlite and vermiculite mix and i dont think i will have a problem with root rot because my soil ladies in 5 gallon nersry pots drink there water up well befor the 48hr mark they will damn near drink 2 gallon a day if i let them.. as far as nats from my research they will be less a problem in the soiless mix my goal is to try and water every other day using this cheap non recovery hydro system that produces great results and the plants grow slightly faster then soil its also cheaper to fill pots every few months with soiles mix then the soil setup ive been using.. ive seen lots of grows hempy style and results are amazing if u dont know what hempy bucket is reserch it befor u knock its a great way to grow anything
