i have a k def. how do i treat it? my leaves are yellow and have the rustic looking spots on a few of them do i flush or add something i'm doing a hydro ebb and flo!
..........do you think that if i flush them for a few days with just water and slowly bring them back to full strength they will be ok?
Pics would help us diagnose this issue for you. Details details.i have a k def. how do i treat it? my leaves are yellow and have the rustic looking spots on a few of them do i flush or add something i'm doing a hydro ebb and flo!
Bring your ph down to 5.8 so your plant can maximize and use the nutes. Hydro 6.2 is too high, here is a ph chart. Looks like you could be right about lacking K (calcium issue is on its way) and as long as your ph is high other issues will arise.i have a tri meter hooked up to it its telling me that the ph is 6.2
Hi Smokey. I get most of my grow readings from Maximum Yeild Magazine. Check them out they have excellent articles with great detials on all kinds of growing. I have a book that is pretty good too, but lacks the extra details that I'm always looking for: Cannibus Cultivator, by Jeff Ditchfield and he says "Potasium is usually locked out by high salinity" So salts build up can cause this K issue as well. If ph is too high (^alkaline, salts based) resluting in k lockout. Salts build up????? we tossed this around before in PMs, we're getting closer to the answer.wayup brasmith? listen , where did you read that about the k issue with ph problems? Just had severe bout of k def with a daily rapid dropping ph. overfriggin nite. I thought it was prob a lockout. nice advie as usual bra.
Very curoius stuff here, potasium is a fussy element, no wonder there seems to be alot of issues with the ever illusive K.hey bra, I found this on the sticky for 'Icmag'. my ph was dropping 5.8-5.2ish over 6 hours and that locked out my k, or it just didnt have enough.
Hydro and Soil less Mediums
Potassium gets locked out of Hydro and Soil less Mediums at ph levels of 4.0-4.5, 6.0-6.5.
Potassium is absorbed best in Hydro and Soil less Mediums at ph levels of 4.7-5.3, 6.7-8.5. (Wouldnt recommend having a ph over 6.5 in hydro and soil less mediums.) Best range for hydro and soil less mediums is 5.0 to 6.0. Anything out of the ranges listed will contribute to a potassium deficiency.
also was mixed with p issue and slight mg.
