Pot sizes for soil???

Hello people,
I, like most folks, started my seedlings in plastic party cups and about 4 weeks later I switched them to 8 inch diameter 1 gallon pots. One week later I noticed that the roots were already coming out of the holes on the bottom. Is this normal, is this safe? Or should I switch them to 3 gallon pots while they are still adapting to their new environment???

Yea, lol, that's completely normal, just leave them in the container you have.

If you put them in a bigger container the roots will continue south. Next time start in a smaller container.
