pot size in relation to yeild?

i love drbudgreengenes, he really proves people wrong about cfls. His system has no waste, there are no side branches and the entire stalk is covered ion bud, they all pretty much grow like lowryder. He said his will grow like that if flowered at a couple inches in 16oz bottles, but he said if he puts them in a 1liter bottle they will go crazy. He has 2 threads that are about 45pages a piece, very informative.
Heres another good cfl grow from IC, 4-42watt cfls, 6 plants, 4oz, in a rubbermaid

thanks for your input, scrog is deff something i would consider for next grow, need to read up a bit more on it though.

With regards to cfl bud quality, i have been to amsterdam 3 times this year and my last cfl grew bud more potent, tastier and harder hitting than its equivilant strain in the dam or on par. I do agree tho that adding an hps would deff increase your yeild, my only problem is the heat in my closet with an hps.

the main reason for trying this new setup with the 2 litre bottles is that in my closet i can fit 8 x 3 gal pots or 40-50 x 2 litre bottles.

He's right in some respects, an OZ from a small plant under CFL's would be pushing it I agree, BUT I've seen (and smoked) some VERY fine CFL grown herb in the past, every bit as good as HPS grown herb IMO, dont ever think quality will suffer with CFL's! I've sampled some beautiful G13x strains grown with love and skill under CFL's BUT the guy averaged around 21 grams-ish max, once he changed to 400HPS he doubled that using the same grow methods (soil, organics + plenty of experience!). Depends on how much you smoke I guess :-) CFL's would do me fine as I only smoke between 7 to 10 g per month.

Hope you dont mind me chipping in here!..... I'm a refugee from HG420 and Marihemp (9 years a member), both fine forums currently down :-( ......... 50 years old and been growing a LONG time!

Good luck with those CFL's keep em as close as you can.

*Edited to add* If I were growing CFL I would go with simple SCROG method.....why? ....Because the one down side of CFL growing is that lower buds dont get as much light due to lack of penetration into the canopy...... scrog is an obvious and easy way round this, it presents all of the buds at the same height below the bulbs.

when it really comes down to it, its how efficiently you use cfl's. same with hps, although it really doesn't take a lot of work apart from setting it up and properly building a cooling system for it.
