So ive been reading around, thanks to a video i saw yesterday of a dude using garbage bins as his pots...

How big of a pot do you guys end up with? if your looking at ending up with a 4-5 ft plant, how big of a pot do ya use?

right now i have square pots, about 12in on each side. and im wondering if i should get bigger ones, atleast for the flowering plants, and do 1 last transplant to a bigger pot before flowering

---

ive read 1gal of dirt/foot of plant, or 1ft of dirt/ft of plant. and ive also read that a 12x12x12 pot holds 5gallons, but that cant be right, imagine sticking a milk jug in one of these pots, theres certainly not room for 1 more, let alone 4 more. and a 5gal bucket is WAY bigger.

so yea, how big do you guys end up, plant / pot size?

Ive also read that porous (clay) are better than the non-porous (plastic) pots becuase they allow for air flow...? anyone got opinions on this? does it really matter?

height of plant in feet = gallon of pot needed :D So 5' plants = 5gallon pots...i use 5gallon buckets myself and drill a bunch of holes in the bottom...dirt cheap from home depot :D

i like 7 gallon for 95% of my stuff but i also try to keep them right at or below 4 foot.i have been using a few 10 gallon pots and they work great but they are heavy as hell when wet.the lowes and home depot buckets are good on the cheap but i like the wider pots from the grow store myself.

yea i just bought some big ass containers, 18x18x24 fits 3x what the old ones held. i know cuz i ran outa soil halfway thru the transplant (ugh). but they now have way more room for roots, and take a LOT more water for fill. better get some big ass nuggz now
